GSI Digital Microscope Review
Give this GSI digital USB microscope miss is my recommendation for thoses people who are thinking of getting one.
The actual microscope seems very attractive and installing
is easy on Or Windows 7, operating the scope is quite instinctive and smooth.
Perfect, apart from magnification is definitely stuck at 20X. I attempted all
moving elements on this digital camera; and changed the magnification range in
"preference" mode; however the zoom never ever improved. Given that
high focus capability is a main feature I'm after, this device receives a
single star rating from me. I wish I made a slip-up; in this case, somebody tell
me how to enhance the zoom. The package and Operator Guide gives no phone
number, not even the organization selling or manufacturing this product that is
definitely surprisingly bizarre. I mainly came across manufacturer name in the
Amazon.
I couldn't get the unit to function on my home computer with
Windows 7. You are able to option within Windows 7 to go back to previous
versions to make this unit to operate. Even with the computer correct operating
a version the GSI required, it wouldn't operate. There seemed to be no support
or one to call. Even the box has a lot of broken English and wrong spelled
terms.
The following microscope contains a elementary design flaw.
The body is made from thin white plastic-type material. This deluges the camera
with diffuse white lighting, creating the contrast very poor and so the images
look washed out. For those who cover its body within a dark paper or put it to
use inside a darker area the problem disappears altogether; you can color it,
but it’s a low priced device and just not worthwhile. The software systems in
the box came blank and it's also a Mini CD, for that reason can't be installed
on a Mac or any device with no CD player.
I was hoping there might possibly be more zoom but there
appears to be no more than 2 configurations, minimum setting is good which i
believe is 20x and after that you can find 200x. Getting screenshots is
challenging when using the button as it requires a good deal of pressure to be
applied which in turn causes the microscope to move and or lose focus. Can take
imagery on a 1600x1200 resolution which is certainly good, but loses quality
high focus. One negative aspect is video capture setting, the microscope has a
huge lag when taking video which can make it hard to move the subject to get a
decent focus.

The software program that includes it leave a great deal to be desire. Very restricted in capacity and performance. That it was also somewhat frustrating that there is an ever-increasing lag inside the laptop computer image whenever you focus more on the item. You shift the scope, or modify the focus, and there's a severe lag in what you view on the tv screen at these increased resolutions. It tends to make re-focusing very hard at higher zoom. No worries around the lower options.
